First, I absolutely love this idea. One thing I think that is extremely important for this to work is that it is optional. This ensures that there a no people there who are just there because they were forced to, which guarantees engagement and a group of people who are excited about peer teaching and learning. The way that they set up the sessions by getting areas of interest from the attendants is amazing and opens the door for so much potential learning. I also really love the 2-foot rule where you can get up and go to a different session if you want to. I know in my life I have had to make decisions between two activities and minutes in, realized I made the wrong choice or would have preferred the other option more. I am very disappointed that I missed our cohorts own EdCamp during class because I’m sure there was some really good discussions taking place. I would love to attend one of these camps soon and going forward as I step into my role as a teacher with my own class. I think hosting your own EdCamp in a classroom would be a great and engaging way for students to decide on some areas of learning which you could then integrate into the curriculum as well. Thanks for reading!
