Hey everyone, here to talk about today’s class with our guest lecturer Jeff Hopkins. I found todays lecture very interesting and am super intrigued in alternative schools. Growing up in a small town, alternative schools were literally non-existent, and only came on to my radar once I moved to university. Jeff was a very informing guest who was extremely good at answering our questions, even the ones we thought were challenging. As the leader of PSII I am sure he gets asked these questions all the time, but I thought he did a particularly good job of explaining all his answers in a thorough and thought-out way which made it very understandable for us. The system of inquiry that PSII uses provides such a good format for high engagement levels from all the students as well as fun. I wish that I was offered the opportunities to pursue my passions more in school. I thought a lot during his lecture about the film “Most Likely to Succeed” while he was explaining PSII. Personally, I really like the ideas of these schools and think that it seems to have a ton of success. I would love to tour one of these schools and spend some time there to witness it all firsthand. Thanks for reading and have a good week!
